AhlulBayt News Agency: A recent report by UN Women reveals that 80% of young women in Afghanistan are being denied access to education and employment, reflecting the severe restrictions imposed by the Taliban since their return to power.
The report, published on Friday, 27 June 2025, highlights Afghanistan’s alarming decline in gender equality, stating that over 80 decrees issued by the Taliban’s Supreme Leader have specifically targeted women’s basic rights.
Despite these oppressive measures, Afghan women and girls continue to resist. UN Women has pledged ongoing support, focusing on empowering girls through leadership, resilience, and strength-building initiatives.
